I began my artistic journey as a little girl by drawing ubiquitous cartoon characters and big-headed cats on my family's Windows 95 computer. My goal was to become a professional in drawing and painting, so I taught myself as much as I could before choosing to study art at Columbus State University, where I received my BA in 2018. At school, I primarily studied oil painting and neglected drawing. After several years of painting, I recently took up drawing again, which has been a nice reprieve from painting. Currently, my work consists of graphite drawings on Bristol paper, which are typically commissioned pieces. My subjects range from landscapes, to pets, or portraits. The style of my work focuses on realism, as I enjoy the tedious process of achieving highly detailed imagery. Building up layers to create a clarified piece is almost a meditative practice for me. I plan to continue to let my innate interests guide my artistic ventures and not restrict myself to one medium.
